Another One Bites the Dust

Swimmers Ear magazine is officially done. They have released one last issue, sadly containing no skate coverage... It can be found online along with all 25 back issues.

You will notice the back tail on the above cover was the same photo that ran in Issue 25 of The Skateboard Mag below



The pool from the photo above was in Iowa, that weekend we shot the photo was pretty amazing. Hank who owned the pool is dead now and I have no idea if the pool is still there or not. The following day we went on a mission to find the barn ramps that were somewhat of a folklore in the Iowa city skate scene. With a few phone calls we came up on a location and drove out to the weirdest set up i have ever been to for a skate session. Here are a few clips & sequences I found on my computer from that weekend. The other dude skating is Clancy from Iowa, who I think used to own the skate shop that Kirchart now owns.

Autumn Bender Weekender

"Its too cold out", "I cant believe its winter already" Well shut up and get out this coming weekend. Friday night is the premier of Benji's latest creation, showtime at 9:30pm, followed by after party at The Suburban World just down the street. On your way from the Uptown Theater be sure to stop in for a pint at the Uptown bar because soon that shit will be gone! Save a little juice for Saturday because its the 6th Backyard Ramp Jam. Sunday - recover.

Ramp Jam Update

This years bus is a legit party bus, and we had it painted custom Handjob green, The Bus is almost capacity so do not leave it to chance for your seat. Cal-Surf and Red Bull just added a best trick contest on the Wizards Gizzard AKA the "Not a Ramp Box" during the stop at the Hiawatha bowl. This contest will only be open to ramp jam participants.
